Opportunities "OPPS" Adult Day Training & Work Staff Program To see if you or your loved one qualifies for the Transition Zone Program
The Adult Day training program focuses on providing meaningful work for people with developmental disabilities. We call our program "Opportunities" to stress the many opportunities that are available at our facility and in the community.
The "OPPS" Program serves the residents of Duvall Home and is also open for non-residents to attend Monday through Friday 9am - 3pm. We assist adults to develop and enjoy continuous education in order to live a more independent lifestyle. Vocational training and community experiences are major components of our program. OPPS individuals also participate in leisure and recreational activities. Take a look in our Photo Gallery for pictures of OPPS "Wet and Wild Day" where individuals enjoyed a day full of wet and wild fun with fishing, water balloons, squirt guns, and a scavenger hunt! Currently the Adult Day Training program, nicknamed OPPS for Opportunities, is extending its reach into the community by volunteering at our Bargain Shop, at the Florida Hospital of DeLand Thrift Store, and delivering "Meals on Wheels" every Friday. We are also in the process of adding new sites for regular community work.
Last year the United Way of Volusia named the OPPS program as runner-up for the Volunteer Group of the Year for all of Volusia & Flagler Counties. The award was received by two of our participants at the annual luncheon in Daytona Beach. We were nominated by the Council on Aging for our work with Meals on Wheels.
