ABOUT USProviding Group Homes for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities Today, the Home remains steadfast to their founding core values and mission to provide the highest quality of life and greatest level of independence for each resident. This is achieved through comprehensive on site services including; twenty-four hour nursing, personal resident care, educational and vocational training, aquatic and behavioral therapies and more. Duvall Home's approximately 140 residents come from all over the United States and many countries. They live either in one of ten state licensed group homes or on the main campus at the residential dormitory. Transportation is provided from the group homes on weekdays to the main campus where residents participate in the Adult Day Training Program, attend Chapel services, experience aqua therapy in the Junior Olympic size swimming pool, dine, learn life skills, enjoy music therapy and arts and crafts. A key component for achieving the greatest level of independence and highest quality of life-is the individualized plans developed for each resident. Through a combination of learning new skills, social interaction and activities, Duvall Home residents thrive in a family environment where the number one priority is to empower them to become as independent in their lives as possible. These include experiences on campus, in the group homes and out in the local communities. You'll find the Duvall Home's main campus nestled in the beautiful and serene community of Glenwood, Florida, just a few miles north of DeLand. About a five minute drive from the main campus is the Village property, where five of the group homes are situated on 250 acres surrounding Lake Reeser. The lake property also houses a campground which hosts many youth mission groups from all over the country and other community members who perform volunteer services.
